SLiCE’s Community Support Specialists are knowledgeable about local volunteer opportunities and are eager to support CSU Rams seeking to broaden and deepen their community engagement efforts. There are many different ways to get involved in the community, and SLiCE is here to help you find valuable one-time/ongoing commitments, in-person/virtual/remote offerings, and service experiences focused on a variety of community causes/issues, transportation needs, and service requirements. This can be through the Service Happenings Newsletter and/or Service Coaching. This seasonal newsletter explores different community needs, spotlights local and global approaches to addressing these community issues, and provides opportunities for readers to pursue, volunteer, and enhance their skill sets and knowledge accordingly.
To stay up to date, join our newsletter and start receiving the next issue. Newsletter topics include but are not limited to:
- Upcoming local, state-wide, national, and global volunteer opportunities
- Upcoming in-person, remote, and virtual volunteering opportunities

Service Coaching offers CSU Rams the opportunity to dig deeper and explore local volunteer opportunities based on individual interests and needs. Coaching sessions occur either in person or virtually. A Community Support Specialist individually meets with you and shares a handful of local non-profits meeting your interests and needs. Though the Community Support Team does not contact non-profits for you, nor ensures you complete any required service hours you may have (if you have any), they try to set you up for success in making meaningful connections and experiencing smooth transitions from the start.
